HYDERABAD MERA SHEHER : THE UNCONFERENCE Themes : alternative education. urban sustainability. art & media Inviting all: dreamers, alternative educators, social entrepreneurs, artists, designers, artisans, activists, organic farmers, earth architects, healers, cross-pollinators, planetary changemakers. The unconference is a gathering that celebrates the spirit of community by inviting people to explore, share, learn and connect with one another via informal and ad-hoc spaces and gatherings that are co-created by the participants themselves. What you can expect at the Hyderabad Unconference: Workshops, sharing sessions, films, networking circles and discussions on topics such as unlearning, permaculture sociocracy, gift spirit, music, community art, compasionate communication etc. Along with the sessions, there are always fun stuff like music, dance, drum circles, dariya-dil-dukaan and games. The format : Apart from a few pre-announced events and sessions, there will be a lot of open spaces for participants to self-organize around interests, ideas, experiences, workshops, play, media, music etc. with each other in the spirit of sharing and fun. There is no audience. Only participants. And since we believe each participant is a resource person, anyone can host a session, help out with planning, ask questions or share something. Everybody is invited. You can : Showcase a project, product, process, idea or a skill! Gift what you can. Unconference is a dynamic space where we can meet as a local learning community, where everyone is a resource person, where we learn with our heads, hearts and hands, and where we co-create what happens together. Co-creators bring their skills, processes, projects, books, gifts, food, ideas and conversations to share and to transform our city. # Who can come? This event is inter-generational so we would love to have people from all ages come together and spend a day full of learning, fun, joy, laughter and happiness. Bring your families and friends along with you! # How one can participant in Unconference? · One can invite their cool & crazy friends. · One can host a Sessions/Workshops based on Open Space Technology. · One can put live stalls in Parichay Mela to initiate conversations for transforming the city. · One can share some interesting group dance, Music jamming and co-operative games they know. · One can bring meaningful gifts that are in good conduction # This unconference run with the spirit of zero waste and gift culture. We follow the principle that people contribute, ‘Bill se nahi, Dil Se’. The event is free and open to all. Co-hosted by Hyderabad Trails, Thoughtworks,Vision Rainbow, Shikshantar Andolan, Kilkaari and Basic. PARTICIPATION AND REGISTRATION : The event is free and open to all. Please ensure you reach the venue before 10am and register yourself. The unconference starts at 10am with the opening gathering and orientation. Please also make sure you come early and figure out your parking, as the venue doesn't have parking. HOW IT WORKS ! After the opening gathering, an empty conference agenda is posted on the wall with time slots and a variety of meeting spaces. Participants can share sessions/talks/presentations they would like to discuss and post it in a time slot. If you post a topic, it is your responsibility to turn up to that session and introduce your topic or question. If you are not hosting a session, you are free to attend whichever of the sessions you are interested in. The Law of Two Feet Everyone at an un-conference is encouraged to practice the law of two feet. The law of two feet says that if you become uninterested at any point, you are encouraged to leave and join another session. In an un-conference you are also invited to take breaks at any time, with the idea that it is sometimes in the breaks that the ‘A-ha’ moments arrive. FOOD The Unconference is a day long event, and simple lunch will be made available at the venue. You are however welcome to bring your lunch/food along with you if you want. Hyderabad Trails is an urban community project in the city of Hyderabad that seeks to engage young people with the heritage, culture and history of the city through heritage walks and learning journeys. The project employs a variety of art forms like music, sketching, storytelling etc. along with events like unconferences, walks, gatherings, jams to inspire participants to connect with the city and the larger issues concerning its citizens.
