Fulcrum presents a 3 day Film Appreciation Course by Prof. Prashant Desai. This course will be of aid to those who wish to venture into the art of film making, or who are film makers or artists already, or who are moviegoers interested in appreciating films better. Designed and instructed by the well known academician, Prof. Prashant Desai, the 3 day course will help you understand the subtle subtexts and nuances which accentuate the aesthetics of this art form, i.e., films. In this course, Prof. Desai will deconstruct some of the most acclaimed international films, including films of Maya Deren, and Cinema Paradiso. A documentary would also be taken up for discussion. Prof. Desai is a renowned cinematographer, screenplay writer, director, producer and an academician. He has worked on national and international projects apart from teaching at Film and Television Institute of India (FTII), Pune, National Institute of Design (NID), Ahmedabad, Symbiosis, MIT, and other institutes of eminence. Prof. Desai graduated from Film and Television Institute of India, Pune in Cinema with specialization in Cinematography. Prior thereto, he studied at NID, Ahmedabad and XIC, Mumbai. Dates: 16, 17 &18 February, 2018.
